In the last decade, through devolution, Greater Manchester has become the UK's fastest growing city region.
In the next decade, we will grow even more, making sure all our people and all our places feel the benefit.
We have a plan to attract 10 billion pounds in investment, bringing thousands of new jobs to our city region and building thousands of new homes.
Together, we can fix the foundations of life so everyone in Greater Manchester can live well.
We'll turn the tide on the housing crisis by building more council homes and social homes than we're losing. We'll drive up standards for renters with our new good landlord charter. And we'll offer free property checks for renters with enforcement action where needed.
Greater Manchester Police will keep reducing neighbourhood crimes such as burglary.
There'll be more neighbourhood police with a named officer in every ward and support from a specialist task force to tackle deep-rooted criminality.
Our communities will be respectful and welcoming, clean and peaceful with access to nature and green spaces.
And Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service will keep working to respond quickly and effectively and to prevent emergencies.
We'll build out our Bee Network providing a low-fare high-use public transport system covering bike, bus, tram, and rail with all communities connected by regular services.
We'll make it easier to pursue a technical education so all our young people can fulfil their potential.
The Greater Manchester Baccalaureate or MBacc provides a clear line of sight into high-quality jobs and helps employers to find the skills and talent they need.
By 2030, there'll be a high-quality 45-day work placement for every young person who wants one, so everyone who is growing up here can have a career in a growing economy. And 16- to 18-year-olds will continue to enjoy free bus travel thanks to the 'Our Pass' scheme.
In every neighbourhood, there'll be tailored support to live a happier, healthier life. GM live well spaces and centres will help people overcome barriers they face like poverty and debt, housing or health issues, and offer support to access good jobs.
They'll bring together public services with community organisations, treating people as names, not numbers, and growing confidence so people can thrive.
We'll target investment at six growth locations right across the city region, building new manufacturing sites, commercial spaces, offices, innovation districts, and hubs for entrepreneurship.
We'll build on our reputation as global leaders in sectors like advanced manufacturing, green industries, and AI.
Our businesses will thrive with the support, infrastructure, and skilled workforce they need to grow, innovate, and compete.
They'll attract investment, boost exports and productivity, and strengthen Greater Manchester's impact on the UK economy.
Our plan will help everyone in Greater Manchester live well by fixing the foundations of life, giving us all a greener and more equal future.
